Mary Jo Rasche, Account Manager for MasterBrand, Kimball, and Old National in Jasper, Ind., was born to run wild.
Just listen to the song she recently released by that name on Spotify, YouTube, Apple Music and 25 other streaming platforms.
“The song’s inspiration came from reflecting on how I got to where I am now and the struggle I wrestled with in doing so,” she said. “I had a deep yearning to get my own music out there, to be heard and entertain.”
Mary Jo grew up grew up in a music-oriented family. Her dad, Rex Wiseman, is a member of the Oakridge Boys, has played with many stars, including Clay Walker, and has released several of his own albums. He plays any instrument you can name – he provided all the music on Born to Run Wild, which he and Mary Jo recorded at his home studio in Nashville.
She released the song under her stage name, Shelbyjo Wiseman: both she and her dad have Shelby cars, her friends call her Jo, and her maiden name is Wiseman. She is contracted as a songwriter with BMI and used a Nashville attorney to handle the details of her music release.
Her plan is to put out two more songs before the end of the year, and then release an entire album in January.
She’s got plenty of material, having written more than 35 songs throughout her life. “I guess I just decided that things are looking up,” she said. “My life is where it needed to be for me to finally jump in with both feet. So jump I did.”
Mary Jo has worked at Frantz for nine years and was named an account manager earlier this year, leading a team of 18 people. “I love it,” she said. “It’s hectic and chaotic, but doable. I love the people, being able to work with them and get to know them and know about their lives.”
With her dad as a songwriting mentor and other family members she plays and sings with, music has always been a part of her life. “I love to be able to put the way you’re feeling out there so everyone can connect with the emotion of the song,” she said. “I hope that at least one (song) can touch someone and help them in a time of need.”
