We know many of you are concerned about the new human coronavirus COVID-19 and how it may impact your employees and your facilities. For the past 35 years, our company has worked hard to provide clean and healthy environments for our customers and their work homes. Like you, we are staying very close to the emerging details of this specific coronavirus and the best methods to combat it. Currently, the Center for Disease Control (CDC) has not officially recommended additional disinfection beyond routine cleaning. The good news is that, if additional disinfection is part of the approach in a facility, the disinfection method for COVID-19 coronavirus is consistent with most other viruses.
Historically, the programs designed for some of your buildings, outside of restrooms, has focused on cleaning for sanitation, rather than for pure disinfection. With these latest coronavirus developments, we will proactively transition to disinfecting high-touch surfaces such as doorknobs, lights switches, breakroom tables, etc. These are the most commonly touched places in your buildings and as such, have the most exposure to germs and bacteria. As we use proper disinfection protocol on these areas, it will greatly reduce the likelihood of sickness spreading throughout your facilities.
There are also some other ways we can all help minimize the effects of this virus. The World Health Organization (WHO) has emphasized the importance of the following:
- Avoiding close contact with people who are sick (within social distance of 6 feet)
- Encouraging team members and peers to stay home if they are feeling sick
- Avoiding touch contact with eyes, nose, and mouth
- Washing hands often with soap and water for at least 20-30 seconds. Using an alcohol-based hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol if soap and water are not available.
In addition to serving our customers well, it is of the utmost importance for us to keep our Frantz team members safe. While many employers are closing their doors and encouraging their employees to work from home, we realize that we are an essential service provider and, barring government restriction, will continue to provide on-site service to our customers who choose to remain open. Therefore, we are offering additional levels of personal protective equipment for our teams to use while performing tasks at each job site.
Each of us are part of the fabric that makes up the communities in which we live. As a community, we are tasked to take care of each other right now. Therefore, we will continue to work hard to provide the highest levels of service to you, your teams and your facilities. We are confident that by working together, we will manage through this challenging time and strengthen our partnership for many years to come.
Sincerely,
Brian Lewis
